MELBOURNE - Oct 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will gradually move east during the next few days, maintaining a generally northerly airstream over the state over the long weekend. A weak cold front is expected to affect the south of the state on Sunday. A stronger cold front is expected to cross New South Wales on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast inland, chiefly near the Queensland border. Early fog on the ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm to hot in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast. Dangerous surf.Sunday 5 OctoberFine and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. A hot day in most areas. North to northwesterly winds, and a southerly change developing in the south.Monday 6 OctoberIsolated afternoon showers in the south, more scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. A warm to hot day in most areas. Winds tending northwest to northeasterly, fresh in the far west ahead of a late southwesterly change.Tuesday 7 OctoberScattered showers in the southeast, more widespread on the South West Slopes and the west of the southern ranges, with isolated showers possibly extending into the far northwest. Fine in the northeast and northern inland.
