Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over Victoria will move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A trough will move over the far west late tonight, then move across western and southern parts of the State on Saturday. Another high pressure system will develop over the Bight later Saturday and will then move southeastwards on Sunday ahead of a strong cold front on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPossible isolated thunderstorms developing about the western border with little to no rainfall. A mild to warm evening, cooler in the southeast. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west. Generally light winds tending northeasterly in the evening and freshening in the west ahead of a fresh southwesterly wind change near the western border late evening.Saturday 4 OctoberAreas of high cloud about western districts with possible isolated thunderstorms with little to no rainfall. Sunny over central and eastern districts. Warm to hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southwest to southerly wind change over the agricultural area and western districts.Sunday 5 OctoberDry. Areas of high cloud over western districts with possible isolated thunderstorms with little to no rainfall, extend eastwards to reach Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island by the end of the day. Mild to warm over southern agricultural areas grading to warm to hot over remaining parts of the State. Generally light winds, southeasterly in the south and northeasterly in the north.Monday 6 October
Warm to hot conditions and fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds developing ahead of a fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly wind change moving across agricultural areas and adjacent pastoral areas during the day. A chance of thunderstorms with the change with little to no rainfall. Possible areas of raised dust across Pastoral and adjacent districts. The chance of isolated showers developing over the agricultural area, mainly in the south with and following the change.
Tuesday 7 October
Fine apart from a chance of showers over agricultural areas, more likely about southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south with moderating west to southwesterly winds. Mild to warm in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over southern agricultural areas, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over southern coasts. Little to no rainfall expected elsewhere.
Wednesday until FridayCool to mild about the southern agricultural area with a slight chance of showers clearing by Thursday afternoon. Mostly sunny and mild to warm in the north. Becoming warm to hot late in the period as winds turn northerly and freshen ahead of yet another change that may bring showers to southern parts of the State.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
