Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A surface trough in far southern Queensland will move north towards the Capricornia coast by tomorrow before weakening. In the wake of the trough a high pressure system should drift eastwards across southeast Australia, pushing fresh and gusty southeast winds across Queensland's western districts.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayJust the chance of some showers or thunderstorms over parts of the central interior during the afternoon. Isolated showers are also possible about the Capricornia district. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times about parts of the east coast.Fire Danger -  Very high about parts of the central and northern interior.Friday 3 OctoberThe high will remain over Victoria and will push some isolated showers onto parts of Queensland's east coast. A weak upper trough is likely to move into the west of the state and may interact with some moisture over the central interior to produce some isolated showers and thunderstorms over the region. The remainder of the state should remain fine and sunny.Saturday 4 OctoberA weak onshore flow should continue to push isolated showers onto parts of Queensland's east coast. The upper level trough may spread some isolated showers and thunderstorms across the southern and central interior districts. The remainder of the state should remain fine and mostly sunny.Sunday 5 OctoberThe upper level trough should move over the southeast of the state with the chance of some isolated showers over the southeast interior. The high in the Tasman Sea will continue to direct a onshore flow and isolated showers along parts of the east coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere in the state.Monday until WednesdayA ridge of high pressure should persist over the east coast early in the new week, keeping most of the state fine, warm and mostly sunny except for the chance of some isolated showers about the east coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDQ10700
