Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
The northern tip of a cold front will move across eastern Bass Strait on Thursday. A high pressure system over the Bight will drift across Victoria on Friday then drift over the northern Tasman Sea on Saturday. A weak cold front will reach southwest Victoria during Saturday afternoon, reach central areas on Saturday night and then clear the east on Sunday morning.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated light showers in the south. Early frost and fog patches in the north then fine. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day, although sunny in the far north. Moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh on the Gippsland coast and tending more southerly in the north.Friday 3 OctoberMorning fog and frost patches inland. Chance of morning drizzle in the south, otherwise dry. Cool and partly cloudy in the south, but mild and mostly sunny over the north. Generally light winds.Saturday 4 OctoberFine apart from early morning fog patches in the east. Early frost in the northeast then a mild to warm and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting cooler southwesterly far western districts during the afternoon and central districts during the evening. Possible showers in the south following the change.Sunday 5 OctoberFine apart from possible early morning showers about the coast. Partly cloudy with mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
