MELBOURNE - Sep 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure lies along Queensland's east coast. A surface trough should approach the southwest of the state during Tuesday. Warm northerly winds ahead of the trough over much of the interior for the next few days. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and clear across the state except for some isolated showers over the tropical east coast. Warm over western Queensland and the southern interior. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds about the east coast. Moderate northeast to northwest winds over the interior, fresh at times during the day.Tuesday 30 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny except for the chance of some isolated light showers about the northeast coast. Warm, moderate to fresh northwest winds across the interior. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds across the remainder of the state.Fire Danger - Very High over the southern interior and northern interior districts.Wednesday 1 OctoberA surface trough should drift eastwards across the interior while a new high pressure system should drift over Victoria and push a fresh southerly wind change up the southeast coast during the day. Fine, warm and mostly sunny across the state except for some showers about the southeast coast near and behind the wind change and also about the northeast coast.Thursday 2 OctoberThe high over Victoria should continue pushing the southerly wind change and some coastal showers northwards through Queensland's Central Coast, while the remainder of the state should be fine and mostly sunny except for some isolated showers about the northeast coast.Friday 3 OctoberThe high should remain over Victoria and will push a few isolated showers onto parts of Queensland's east coast, while the remainder of the state should remain fine and sunny.Saturday until MondayRemaining fine over most of the state.
