MELBOURNE - Sep 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A front will move towards the far northeast of the State late on Sunday, before dissipating on Monday. Another weak front will skirt around the South East districts tonight and early on Monday morning. A ridge of high pressure will be established over South Australia from Monday, with yet another front skirting around the South East districts on Tuesday, before a high pressure cell forming south of the Bight on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayWindy with fresh to strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds, reaching gale force at times east of Woomera to Keith, ahead of a milder, fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west, moderating during the evening. Areas of raised dust about the southern Pastoral and Flinders districts, and the northern agricultural area east of the front until early evening. Chance of showers developing about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East during the evening.Monday 29 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches West Coast, Eyre Peninsula, Mid North and northern Yorke Peninsula. Isolated showers near southern coasts and ranges, clearing later in the day. Mild grading to hot in the far north with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds easing, becoming light and variable in the north during the day.Tuesday 30 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches in the Far West west of Nullarbor. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area, tending scattered about the Lower South East. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly in the south.Wednesday 1 OctoberFine apart a slight chance of showers about the Lower South East, more likely about the coastal area. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 2 October The chance of showers in the Lower South East, clearing during the afternoon. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north and the west. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending east to northeasterly in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, possibly increasing to 2 to 5 mm in the Lower South East. No rain is expected over the remainder.
