MELBOURNE - Sep 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred off the New South Wales coast is extending a ridge across the state. This high will be the dominant feature in the region today as it drifts eastwards, promoting fine conditions in most districts with daytime temperatures on the increase. A cold front is expected to reach the state's southwest late today, but is expected to decay as it progresses to the northeast during Monday. Another front will follow on Tuesday and Wednesday but is expected to bring little or no rain. Behind the front another high will enter the Bight on Tuesday and result in a continuation of fine conditions through the rest of the week apart from possible isolated coastal showers. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from the chance of a morning shower or two on the far north coast. Mostly sunny. Warm day in the west. Early fog and frost patches in the east. Southerly winds in the northeast, tending east to northeasterly in the afternoon. Northwest to northeasterly winds over the remainder, becoming fresh to strong and gusty in the south and west.Fire Danger - Very high in the Southern Riverina, Northern Riverina and Western.Monday 29 SeptemberIsolated showers near the Victorian border in the east. Fine remainder. Warm to hot day in the north. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the northeast. South to southwesterly change extending through southern, western and central districts, fresh and gusty along the coast.Tuesday 30 SeptemberSlight chance of showers in the northeastern third of the state. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. A warm to hot day across northern and central districts. Northeast to northwesterly winds becoming fresh and gusty in the south, shifting southwesterly in the west later.Wednesday 1 OctoberIsolated showers possible near the coast. Fine remainder. Warm day in the north.
