Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New South Wales will move steadily eastwards over the northern Tasman Sea on Sunday. A strong cold front over Western Australia will rapidly cross the Bight to reach western Victoria on Sunday afternoon but will be weakening as it progresses through eastern Victoria Sunday night. A weak high pressure ridge will extend across northern Victoria on Monday then another cold front is expected to rapidly cross Victoria on Tuesday. A new high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from isolated showers about the eastern highlands. Mild and mostly clear with northerly winds freshening in the west and south.Sunday 28 SeptemberA dry mostly sunny morning with strengthening northerly winds, locally reaching gale force over western and central areas and about the eastern highlands. A warm to very warm day until a milder west to southwesterly change reaches the southwest in the afternoon then extends to central areas and the northwest in the evening. Scattered showers developing near and south of the divide with the change with the chance of thunderstorms.Monday 29 SeptemberFine apart from isolated clearing showers in the east and near the coast. A mild day with moderate west to northwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 30 SeptemberScattered showers developing near and south of the divide but dry in the far north. Mild freshening northwest wind shifting cooler southwesterly from the west during the afternoon.Wednesday 1 OctoberIsolated showers in the south, contracting to the coast by the afternoon. Generally cool with moderate west to southwest wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
