Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over western New South Wales extends a ridge southwards across Victoria. The high and ridge will move eastward and reach the Tasman Sea early on Sunday ahead of a strong cold front which will cross western and central Victoria later Sunday. The front is expected to clear the State early Monday, with another cold front crossing southern Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers clearing the southwest and exposed coastal areas. The chance of afternoon showers about the central and eastern ranges. A mild to warm and mainly sunny day with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.Sunday 28 SeptemberAreas of rain developing in the southwest during the afternoon, extending to eastern districts at night. Isolated showers elsewhere near and south of the ranges. Morning fog patches in the east. Warm to hot with strengthening north to northwesterly winds, shifting west to southwesterly over western and central areas later in the day or during the evening.Monday 29 SeptemberFine apart from clearing showers in the east. A cool to mild day with moderate west to northwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 30 SeptemberEarly inland fog patches. Isolated showers developing in the south, scattered about the coast. Cool to mild with mainly moderate northwesterly winds tending more westerly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
