USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Sep 26/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 26.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were moderate to sharply lower.
Corn and soybean bids saw losses most of the week as harvest advances adding
pressure to the cash basis as supplies continue to grow.  Reports continue to
come in on record yields across the Midwest.  Rain moved in some areas of the
corn-belt which delayed activity in the fields; however, the outlook is
favorable for harvest.  In some areas of corn country, corn bids dipped below
3.00 per bushel and soybeans were below or over the 9.00 per bushel mark.  Next
week the quarterly stock report will be released.  Corn had weekly export sales
totaling 43.6 mb with 32.9 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Soybeans had
weekly export sales of 94.3 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat had
export sales of 14.6 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat was 3-64 cents
lower.  Corn traded 4-32 cents lower.  Sorghum was 22 to 40 cents lower.
Soybeans were mostly 67 cents to 2.93 lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 3
1/2 to 5 1/2 cents lower from 6.84 1/4-7.11 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 41 to 64 cents lower from 3.29-4.34 per bushel.
Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent
protein rail, was 19 cents lower from 7.46 1/4-7.56 1/4 per bushel.  Portland US
Soft White wheat rail was 10 to 19 1/2 cents lower from 6.39-6.80 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 17 cents lower from 3.21-3.25
per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 12 1/4 to 17 1/4 cents
lower at 3.06 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 29 to 32 cents
lower from 2.86-3.09 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 16 1/4 to 17
1/4 cents lower from 2.96-3.46 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was
4 1/4 to 12 1/4 cents lower from 3.15-3.28 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2
Yellow corn rail was 6 1/4 cents lower at 2.86 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 11 cents lower to 9 cents higher at 3.81 1/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or
better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was
steady at 6.35 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export
was not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 31 to 40 cents lower from
4.93-5.02 per cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid
to the farmer, fob elevator) was 22 cents lower from 5.55-5.73 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 67 3/4 cents lower at 8.72
3/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 2.18 3/4
to 2.93 3/4 lower from 9.02 3/4-9.27 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were 1 1/4 cents higher at 9.22 3/4 per bushel.  Illinois 48
percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 169.40 to 176.40 lower from 352.40-
418.40 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 10 points
lower from 33.62-35.12 cents per pound.
