MELBOURNE - Sep 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near Adelaide is extending a ridge across New South Wales in the wake of a low pressure trough. This high will be the dominant feature in the region through the weekend as it drifts eastwards, promoting fine conditions in most districts with daytime temperatures on the increase. The next cold front looks set to reach the state's southwest late Sunday a the high shifts to the Tasman Sea, but is expected to decay as progresses to the northeast during Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, and along the eastern side of the southern and central ranges. Fine elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Saturday 27 SeptemberIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges, mostly clearing in the the evening. The chance of an afternoon shower or two about the southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Local early frost patches on the southern tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming northerly in the west during the day. Afternoon sea breezes along the southern coast.Sunday 28 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of a morning shower or two on the north coast. Mostly sunny. Warm to hot day in the west. Southerly winds in the northeast. Northwest to northeasterly winds over the remainder, becoming fresh and gusty in the south and west.Monday 29 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south. Fine remainder. Warm to hot day in the north. Northwest to northeasterly winds wind the northeast. South to southwesterly change extending through southern, western and central districts, fresh and gusty along the coast.Tuesday 30 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny throughout. A warm to hot day across the north.
