MELBOURNE - Sep 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough will move over the southeast of the State this evening. A high pressure system over WA will move over the north of the State on Thursday and Friday ahead of a vigorous front on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern districts contracting east and clearing during the evening. Possible light showers developing about western coasts and the southern agricultural area late evening. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Thursday 25 SeptemberMorning fog patches in the far west. Isolated morning showers about the southern agricultural area, possibly also extending to coastal parts of the Flinders district. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 26 SeptemberIsolated showers over Kangaroo Island, the far south of the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Southeast districts. Morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the agricultural districts. Mild in the south, warm inland with moderate westerly winds in the south tending light inland, then becoming northerly during the day in the west.Saturday 27 SeptemberThe chance of early morning showers about the Lower South East, otherwise fine. Warm, grading to hot in the north and west with freshening northerly winds.Sunday 28 September Slight chance of showers about southern and western coasts during the evening. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be about 2 to 5 mm over the central and eastern districts east of the ranges, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about the Lower South East. Higher totals of 5 to 10 mm are possible with thunderstorms. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder. Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area contracting to the Lower South East on Wednesday.
