Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the south of New Zealand and a high over western Victoria are directing south to southwest winds across New South Wales. The high will be the dominant feature in the region during the next few days as it drifts slowly east, reaching the Tasman Sea early in the new week while maintaining a ridge across much of New South Wales. The presence of some cool upper-level air over the state's northeast should support some shower activity along the north coast through to Sunday, and the development of an upper low over southwest Queensland later on the weekend may lead to some unsettled weather for the far northern inland.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about the far northern coast and adjacent ranges, mainly afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere until isolated showers develop along the coast this evening. Areas of morning frost on the ranges, slopes and southern inland, with some patchy early fog over the northern ranges. South to southeasterly winds, tending easterly across the ranges in the afternoon.Sunday 21 SeptemberShowers along the central and northern coasts, contracting northwards during the day. The chance of a shower or thunderstorm near the Queensland border in the west. Fine elsewhere. Partly cloudy in the north, mostly sunny in the south. Early frost patches on the ranges, mainly in the south. East to southeast winds inland, south to southeast along the coast.Monday 22 SeptemberIsolated showers along the far north coast, and the chance of showers in the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Partly cloudy along the coast and ranges, sunny over the southern inland. Easterly winds inland. Southeast winds along the coast, turning northeasterly along the southern half of the coast during the day.Tuesday 23 SeptemberIsolated showers along the north coast and adjacent ranges.
