Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure system is situated over the eastern Tasman Sea, while a high is centred to the south of Adelaide. This high will be the dominant feature in the region during the next few days as it drifts slowly east, reaching the Tasman Sea early in the new week while maintaining a ridge across much of New South Wales. The presence of some cool upper-level air over the state's northeast should support some shower and thunderstorm activity along the north coast through to Sunday, and the development of an upper low over southwest Queensland later on the weekend may lead to some unsettled weather across the northern inland.
Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers developing on the northern coast and adjacent eastern ranges during the afternoon, increasing in the evening with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine elsewhere. Partly cloudy in the north, mostly sunny in the south. Areas of morning frost on the ranges, slopes and southern inland, and local early fog patches in the east. South to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Saturday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers about the northern coast and ranges, mainly afternoon, with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Areas of morning frost on the ranges, slopes and southern inland. South to southeasterly winds.Sunday 21 SeptemberIsolated showers on the central and northern coasts, contracting northwards during the day. The chance of a shower or thunderstorm near the Queensland border in the west. Fine elsewhere. Partly cloudy in the north, mostly sunny in the south. Early frost patches on the ranges, mainly in the south. South to southeasterly winds, tending south to southwesterly in the far southeast of the state.Monday 22 SeptemberIsolated showers along the far north coast, and the chance of showers in the far northwest.
