Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A relatively weak low pressure system over western Victoria extends a trough northward over western NSW. The trough will cross western parts of the state tonight with a dry, fresh to strong westerly change associated, then move through the east tomorrow with isolated shower and thunderstorm activity expected. The low will move through eastern Bass Strait and deepening somewhat tomorrow then move slowly to the southeast during Wednesday while a cold front from the Southern Ocean moves northeast over southeastern NSW. This front should bring a few showers to the far southeast of the state on Wednesday, falling as snow on the Alps, and fresh to strong southwest winds. Another cold front or trough is likely to pass near southeast NSW on Thursday and Friday, and combined with a slow moving high south of Adelaide, is likely to bring further isolated shower activity and fresh to strong southwest winds to the southeast, and relatively cool conditions across the state.
Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers increasing in the southeast this evening. Possible local thunder over most inland districts but little if any rain expected. Fine remainder. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the west shifting fresh and gusty west to southwesterly, raised dust possible near the change. Northeasterly winds in the east.Tuesday 16 SeptemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east, contracting towards the coast during the day and clearing in the evening. Showers and storms more likely and more widespread about the far southeast, and far north coast and adjacent ranges during the afternoon. Fine in the west. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, with fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds extending throughout by evening.Fire Danger -  Very high fire danger for the northeast.Wednesday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers about the southeast, mostly about the western and southern slopes of the southern ranges, and falling as snow on the Alps. Fine and partly cloudy in the remainder. West to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong in the southeast.Thursday 18 SeptemberIsolated showers in the far southeast, falling as snow on the Alps. Fine elsewhere. Winds southwest to southeasterly, fresh and gusty about the southeast.Friday 19 SeptemberIsolated showers about the southern coast and far southern ranges. Fine elsewhere.
