Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high in the Tasman Sea is continuing to weaken, while a trough and associated weak southerly change will move from the Hunter coast up to the Byron coast during today. A weak low pressure centre will move from near Adelaide into southwestern New South Wales or northwest Victoria by this evening. The low will move slowly eastwards and cross the far south coast on Tuesday afternoon, before moving out into the Tasman Sea on Tuesday night and Wednesday. A broad high pressure ridge will begin to build over the west of the state on Wednesday and Thursday, while a series of troughs embedded in the south to southwesterly flow will clip the southeast of New South Wales.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers developing in the southeast and southern inland, with some light showers also possibly reaching central parts of the coast late in the day. Isolated showers along the north coast, with the chance of a thunderstorm near the coastal fringe early afternoon. Mostly fine across the central and northern inland and far west. Areas of morning fog in the east. Local early frosts on the southern and central ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the west, fresh and gusty near the SA border, tending southeast to northeasterly along the coastal fringe.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Far Western Fire Area.Tuesday 16 SeptemberIsolated showers in the east, more scattered along the southern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine in the west. Northeast to northwesterly winds initially in the east, with fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 17 SeptemberShowers along the south coast and the western slopes of the southern ranges, possibly extending as far north as the central ranges and Hunter coast. Fine and partly cloudy in the remainder. Fresh west to southwesterly winds, tending east to southeasterly later on the north coast.Thursday 18 SeptemberPossible isolated showers along the coastal fringe. Fine in the west. Winds southwest to southeasterly in the inland, east to northeasterly on the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDN10031
