Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure over the northern Tasman Sea extends a weak ridge into Queensland. Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible showers about the north tropical coast and over the state's southeast. Fine and clear elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Monday 15 SeptemberChance of isolated showers about parts of the eastern tropics and over the state's southeast with possible showers and thunderstorms developing in the southwest late in the day. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, with a moderate southwest wind change entering the Channel Country late in the day.Fire Danger - Very High in southwest Darling Downs.Tuesday 16 SeptemberA surface trough will move quickly eastwards, spreading scattered showers and isolated storms across the southern interior and into the southeast of the state. A weak onshore airflow will produce some showers about parts of the northeast coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.Wednesday 17 SeptemberShowers and thunderstorms are possible over the Wide Bay and Capricornia regions as the surface trough passes through the region. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.Thursday 18 SeptemberFine and sunny throughout most the state as the state's weather is dominated by a ridge of high pressure. A shower or two is possible in the southeast in a moist onshore flow.Friday until SundayThe ridge of high pressure over southern Australia should keep Queensland mainly fine late in the working week, though some showers are possible about the eastern districts.
