MELBOURNE - Sep 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over southern Eyre Peninsula will move over the south of South Australia this evening and Monday morning to be centred over western Victoria by late Monday morning. A high pressure system will develop following the low, to be centred over the Bight by Tuesday afternoon. The high will move slowly southeastward during Wednesday and Thursday as another low pressure system moves over the northwest. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated light showers about the Upper and Lower South East. A cool to mild evening with moderate to fresh northeast to southeasterly winds in the east ahead of a moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly change in the west.Monday 15 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches west of about Ceduna and also about the Flinders and Mt Lofty Ranges. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area and far southwest of the Flinders district. Possible isolated showers about western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north and hot in the far northeast. Moderate southwesterly winds extending throughout. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds in the northeast ahead of the southwesterly change.Tuesday 16 SeptemberSlight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and far southwest of the Flinders district contracting to the southern coasts by the evening. Slight chance of showers developing west of Ernabella to Marla to Nullarbor during the afternoon and evening. Early morning fog patches about western and central districts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north and hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 17 SeptemberPossible early morning frost about the Flinders and Mid North districts. Slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and far southwest of the Flinders district. Slight chance of showers west of a line Ceduna to Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the far northwest.Thursday 18 September Possible early morning frost in the south. Slight chance of showers west of a line Ceduna to Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta. Slight chance of showers about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East districts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northeast to southeasterly winds in the west, light to moderate southeast to southwesterly in the east. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula, the Upper and Lower South East and locally about the Mt Lofty Ranges, and possible falls of 5 to 10 mm in the south of the Lower South East. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, about western coasts and west of about Ceduna to Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta.
