Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high in the Tasman Sea is currently extending a weak ridge back across New South Wales, while a weak low pressure system has developed in the Bight. A trough and weak southerly change, associated with a different low pressure centre moving well to the south of Tasmania, will extend along southern and central parts of the coast today. The low over the Bight will move slowly eastwards, and will reach southwest New South Wales on Monday afternoon, then will cross the New South Wales south or central coast during Tuesday. A broad high pressure ridge will extend across the state from the southwest on Wednesday as the low moves out into the Tasman Sea.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from the chance of a light shower or two along the northern coast, and some late drizzle about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny, though some cloud developing across the south and scattered afternoon cloud over the northeast. Morning areas of fog in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Light and variable winds inland. Northeasterly winds near the coast ahead of a southerly change in the south.Monday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges except for central parts, becoming scattered in the north and south with the chance of thunderstorms in the north. Showers possibly extending further west along the Victorian border. Fine across the central and northern inland. Morning fog patches in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the west, freshening near the SA border, tending southeast to southwesterly near the coast.Tuesday 16 SeptemberShowers in the east, heavier and more widespread along the southern coast. The chance of thunderstorms in eastern districts. Fine in the west. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, tending west to southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 17 SeptemberShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges, mostly in the south. Fine and partly cloudy in the remainder. South to southwesterly winds, tending east to southeasterly later on the north coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
