MELBOURNE - Sep 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure is currently centred over the southeast of Australia. The high centre is expected to slowly move eastwards into the Tasman Sea and weaken during today and Sunday. A trough and weak southerly change will extend along southern and central parts of the coast on Sunday, associated with a low pressure centre moving well to the south of Tasmania. A weak low will then develop over western Victoria and track steadily eastwards, crossing the central New South Wales coast late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges, contracting northwards and tending scattered over the northern tablelands though easing this evening. Isolated thunderstorms on the northern tablelands and the northern coast, scattered over parts of the tablelands but decreasing during the evening. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland, with east to northeasterly winds near the coast.Sunday 14 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of a morning shower or two along the northern coast, and some late drizzle about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny, though some cloud developing across the south. Morning fog patches in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Light and variable winds inland. Northeasterly winds near the coast ahead of a southerly change in the south.Monday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges except for central parts, becoming scattered in the north and south with the chance of thunderstorms in the north. Showers possibly extending further west along the Victorian border. Fine across the central and northern inland. Morning fog patches in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the west, freshening near the SA border, tending southeast to southwesterly near the coast.Tuesday 16 SeptemberShowers in the east, heavier and more widespread along the southern coast. The chance of thunderstorms in eastern districts. Fine in the west. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, tending northwest to southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 17 SeptemberShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges, mostly in the south. Fine and partly cloudy in the remainder.
