MELBOURNE - Sep 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over southeast Australia will drift into the Tasman sea during the weekend. A surface trough lies through the state's interior, and an upper trough is expected to move eastwards across the southern districts during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine and clear about the state except for an area of scattered showers and storms over the central interior. Just the chance of some isolated showers about the southern border ranges. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 13 SeptemberScattered showers and isolated storms extending from the central interior down to the state's southeast. Isolated showers about parts of the tropical east coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 14 SeptemberThe high should move slowly eastwards across the Tasman Sea, and may push some isolated showers over parts of the east coast. Fine and sunny elsewhere, except for just the chance of some isolated showers about the southern border ranges.Monday 15 SeptemberFine and clear over most of the state except for the chance of some isolated showers and storms about the state's far southeast as an upper trough moves over the region, and some isolated showers about parts of the tropical east coast in an onshore flow.Tuesday 16 SeptemberFine and clear across Queensland except for some showers and storms over the southeast districts and the southern interior as another upper trough moves over the region.Wednesday until FridayThe upper trough should strengthen over southern Queensland mid week, producing showers and storms in a band from the central interior to the southeast districts around Wednesday and Thursday.
