MELBOURNE - Sep 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred near Adelaide extends a ridge of high pressure into New South Wales, while a trough is moving north along the northern coast. The high will shift eastwards during the weekend to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday while maintaining a ridge along the coast. The next cold front, albeit a fairly weak one, is forecast to reach southern and central parts of the coast during Sunday before decaying. A weak low pressure system appears likely to develop near the state's western border early next week before moving towards the coast. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers or drizzle patches along the coast and eastern ranges, mostly between about Kempsey and Batemans Bay, clearing in the south tonight. Fine west of the Divide. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 SeptemberIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges, contracting to the northeast through the day. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the northern tablelands. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning fog patches in the south and east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Light and variable winds inland, with east to northeasterly winds near the coast.Sunday 14 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of a morning shower or two along the northern coast, and some late drizzle about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny, though some cloud developing across the south. Morning fog patches in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Light and variable winds inland. Northeasterly winds near the coast ahead of a southerly change in the south.Monday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, becoming scattered in the north with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible showers across the southern inland. Fine across the central and northern inland. Morning fog patches in the east. Local early frosts on the southern ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the west, freshening near the SA border, tending southeast to southwesterly near the coast.Tuesday 16 SeptemberShowers in the east, mainly near the southern coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine in the west.
