MELBOURNE - Sep 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight will drift eastwards across Victoria on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A weak cold front will move through Bass Strait and southern Victoria on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure will redevelop over southern Victoria and Bass Strait on Monday as a trough of low pressure extends from eastern South Australia towards western Victoria. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers across southern and mountain areas contracting to the coast tonight. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds easing this evening.Friday 12 SeptemberMorning fog and frost areas inland. Isolated showers near the coast and over west Gippsland, clearing by early afternoon. Dry elsewhere. Generally sunny across the north, but partly cloudy in the south. A cool to mild day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 13 SeptemberMorning fog and frost patches, otherwise a fine and mainly sunny day. Cool to mild with light winds tending northerly and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 14 SeptemberIsolated showers reaching the southwest coast late morning and extending across southern and mountain districts during the afternoon. Cool to mild with southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Monday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers extending to most areas.
