MELBOURNE - Sep 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front in southwestern Victoria will move across the State during Thursday morning and early afternoon as a high pressure system develops over waters south of the Bight. The high will drift eastwards across Victoria on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. Another cold front will move through Bass Strait and southern Victoria on Sunday. During Monday a trough of low pressure will move into western Victoria, as a weak ridge extends over the eastern part of the State. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers extending across southern and mountain areas during the morning although not reaching the far east until early afternoon. Possible hail near the coast. Only isolated showers extending across the north. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly then easing from the west.Friday 12 SeptemberMorning fog and frost areas inland. Isolated showers about the coast and over west Gippsland, but dry elsewhere. Generally sunny inland, but partly cloudy near the coast. A cool to mild day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 13 SeptemberMorning fog and frost patches, otherwise a fine and mainly sunny day. Cool to mild with light winds tending northerly and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 14 SeptemberIsolated showers extending across southern and mountain districts.
