MELBOURNE - Sep 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure extends over the the State. A front will move over the south of the State overnight tonight into Thursday. A high will develop over the Bight on Thursday before moving eastwards across South Australia during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayClear over Pastoral districts and northern agricultural areas. Partly cloudy over southern agricultural areas with isolated showers extending over southern coasts this evening, temporarily increasing to scattered showers about the Lower South East district tonight. Cool to mild with mainly moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresher in the south and becoming strong and gusty about the Lower South East tonight.Thursday 11 SeptemberIsolated showers about southern coastal districts and the Mount Lofty Ranges, possibly extending over remaining parts of the agricultural area, all gradually contracting to the Lower South East coast during the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Possible morning fog in the west. Cool in the far south, mild to warm elsewhere. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 12 SeptemberFine apart from early morning fog and frost. Mainly mild to warm with light southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 13 SeptemberFine apart from possible morning fog and light frost. Mostly sunny. Generally mild with light winds turning northeasterly in the far west.Sunday 14 September Fine at first with a slight chance of showers developing over the west during the day, extending to southern coastal areas later. Possible morning fog about the southeast. Mild to warm in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds ahead of a westerly change in the far west during the afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm with isolated local falls of 2-5 mm about southern coasts. Monday until WednesdayGenerally warm at first.
