Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1032 hPa is centred over the Tasman Sea. A weak trough of low pressure will move over the far west of the State this afternoon and evening. A cold front will move across the west of the State on Monday afternoon and central parts in the evening before contracting to the northeast ahead of further fronts on Tuesday and Wednesday. A high will develop over the Bight on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of patchy light rain over the south of the West Coast district, Lower Eyre Peninsula and western Kangaroo Island later this evening. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds shifting moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Monday 8 SeptemberPatchy rain extending over the agricultural area and far south of the North West Pastoral district, increasing to areas of rain over Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern Agricultural area during the late afternoon and evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula, southern Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island thunderstorms. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west, with fresh to strong and and gusty northerly winds, shifting cooler southwesterly in the west. Areas of raised dust in the west and over the Flinders and parts of the Mid north districts.Tuesday 9 SeptemberPatchy morning rain southeast of about Ceduna to Marree, tending to rain over the agricultural area. Scattered showers developing over western coasts around midday then extending over Eyre Peninsula and the agricultural area during the afternoon before contracting east and easing during the evening. Isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula and the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds extending throughout, strong at times in the south.Wednesday 10 SeptemberMedium chance of showers south over southern coasts and ranges and a slight chance of the remainder of the southern agricultural area. Possible morning fog in the west. Mild to warm with mainly moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 11 September
Medium chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and a slight chance over the remainder of agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Possible morning fog in the west. Cool in the far south, mild to warm elsewhere with moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and south of the Northwest pastoral district increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere over the south of the pastoral districts. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible over southern coasts and ranges.
Friday until SundaySlight chance of showers over the south of the Lower South east on Friday and Sunday otherwise fine. Mild to warm then becoming hot in the west on Sunday. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds tending northerly over the weekend and freshening in the west ahead of a southerly change in the west during Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
