Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure just east of Victoria will drift steadily eastwards over the Tasman Sea on Sunday and Monday. A cold front will move rapidly across the Bight on Monday, weakening as it approaches western Victoria late in the day. The front will cross Victoria and Bass Strait on Tuesday and another cold front will cross the State on Wednesday while a series of deep low pressure systems pass well south of Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning frost and fog patches, mainly in the east, then a fine, mild and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds and weak afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Monday 8 SeptemberMorning fog patches in the east. A mild to warm day with strengthening northerly winds over southern and elevated areas. Cloud increasing from the west with patchy rain developing in the west during the afternoon, possibly reaching central areas at night.Tuesday 9 SeptemberRain areas contracting to the east during the afternoon. Scattered showers to follow with possible thunderstorms in the south. Fresh to strong northerly winds turning cooler westerly from the west then easing somewhat.Wednesday 10 SeptemberMostly cloudy with scattered showers mainly over southern and mountain areas, more widespread over the northeast and southwest coast. Snow showers above 1600 metres. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting westerly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
