Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over Victoria will move eastwards over the next few days, strengthening a ridge along the east coast of Queensland. An upper trough is likely to move eastwards across central and southern Queensland on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about parts of the southeast. Possible late showers over central interior. Fine though mostly cloudy elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds for much of the state.Sunday 7 SeptemberIsolated to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms about the central and southern interior. Isolated showers elsewhere over eastern districts south of about Ingham. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Mostly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds for much of the state, tending south to southwesterly in the far west.Fire Danger -  High to very high over the central and northern interior.Monday 8 SeptemberThe upper trough will begin to weaken, but showers are still expected through the southeast quarter and central areas. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, except for the chance of some isolated showers about the northeast coast.Tuesday 9 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny across the state except for some isolated showers about the east coast as a weak ridge pushes some light to moderate winds ashore. Warmer than normal temperatures are expected in western districts ahead of a southerly change.Wednesday 10 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny across most of the state. Warmer than normal temperatures are expected in western districts ahead of a southerly change. Possible showers over the southeast during the afternoon.Thursday until SaturdayFine and mostly sunny across most of the state. A new high will push through the Bight from Thursday, maintaining the ridge and onshore flow to eastern Queensland. Upper trough will push into the west of the state on Friday, and into eastern Queensland on Saturday. Isolated showers are expected about parts of the east coast, and developing over parts of the interior to the east of the upper trough.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Sunday.Product IDQ10700
