MELBOURNE - Sep 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1030 hPa over eastern Victoria will move east to be over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. A trough of low pressure will move over the west of the State on Sunday then a cold front will move across the State during Monday and Tuesday. A high pressure system will develop over the western Bight during Wednesday then move slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine. A cool evening in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening in the west.Sunday 7 SeptemberFine. Early frost patches about the Flinders, far northeast of the Mid North and south of the North East Pastoral districts. Mild grading to warm in the north and warm to hot in the west and far north. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds, fresh to strong in the west during the morning, shifting moderate west to northwesterly in the far southwest during the afternoon and evening.Monday 8 SeptemberPatchy rain developing over the agricultural area and far south of the North West Pastoral district, increasing to areas of rain with possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula, the south of Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island during the late afternoon and evening. Possible areas of raised dust in the west. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west, with fresh to strong and and gusty northerly winds shifting cooler southwesterly in the west. Areas of raised dust in the west.Tuesday 9 SeptemberMedium chance of rain or showers southeast of about Ceduna to Marree, more likely with possible isolated thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds extending throughout, strong at times in the south.Wednesday 10 September Medium chance of showers south of about Cape Borda to Nuriootpa to Keith and a slight chance of the remainder of the agricultural area south of about ceduna to Clare to Lameroo. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday evening to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area with possible local falls of 15 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Less than 5 mm is expected over the south of the pastoral districts. Thursday until SaturdayMedium chance of showers over the southern agricultural area on Thursday and a slight chance over the remainder of agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts.
