MELBOURNE - Sep 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high in the eastern Great Australian Bight will move eastwards over the next few days, strengthening a ridge along the east coast of Queensland. An upper trough is likely to move eastwards across central and southern Queensland on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine though partly cloudy across much of the state. Isolated showers are possible about the Southern Border Ranges and exposed coastal parts of the Southeast Coast district. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds for much of the state.Fire Danger - Very high about parts of the central and northern interior.Sunday 7 SeptemberThe high should move slowly eastwards through the Tasman Sea, while an upper trough strengthens over southwestern Queensland, generating showers and isolated thunderstorms over the central and southern interior. More isolated showers about the southeastern districts and the North Tropical Coast in an onshore flow.Monday 8 SeptemberEven though the upper trough should weaken, it will still help to produce showers over the state's southeast quarter, particularly near the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, except for the chance of some isolated showers about the northeast coast.Tuesday 9 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny across the state except for some isolated showers about the east coast as a weak ridge pushes some light to moderate winds ashore. Warmer than normal temperatures are expected in western districts ahead of a southerly change.Wednesday until FridayFine and mostly sunny across most of the state. Warm ahead of the southerly change as it moves eastwards across the state. The chance of showers ahead of the southerly change over the state's southeast mid-week, contracting northwards to the southeast tropics later in the week. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDQ10700
