MELBOURNE - Sep 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure will drift slowly eastwards over Bass Strait and southern Victoria today to reach the Tasman Sea on Sunday. A cold front will move rapidly across the Bight on Monday, weakening as it approaches western Victoria late in the day. The front will slowly cross Victoria and Bass Strait on Tuesday and will be closely followed by a second cold front later on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from morning fog patches. Early frosts, then a cool to mild and mostly sunny day. Light winds and weak afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 7 SeptemberMorning frost and fog patches then a fine, mild and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds and weak afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 8 SeptemberMorning fog patches in the east. A dry, mild to warm day with northerly winds strengthening over southern and elevated areas. Cloud increasing from the west with patchy rain developing in the west during the evening.Tuesday 9 SeptemberRain areas contracting to the east during the afternoon. Scattered showers to follow with possible thunderstorms.
