Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the eastern states is weakening. A low pressure system and associated trough over South Australia will move slowly eastwards and weaken today before reaching the eastern border. Another high is expected to follow, moving to the south of the State on Friday and across Victoria during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers over Kangaroo Island and Yorke Peninsula extending over the Mid North and Mount Lofty Ranges districts this morning to reach the Murraylands and Riverland districts by midday, then easing to isolated showers early afternoon. Isolated showers over much of the agricultural area, possibly reaching the Lower South East district and the Pastoral districts south of Leigh Creek. Showers contracting east during the afternoon and mostly clearing by late evening. Cool grading to mild in the far north. Light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwest to southeasterly from the west.Friday 5 SeptemberHigh cloud in the northwest with a slight chance of showers northwest of about Coober Pedy. Areas of morning fog and frost patches over the agricultural area and south of the Northwest Pastoral. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, and light afternoon sea breezes in the west.Saturday 6 SeptemberA slight chance of showers north of about Coober Pedy. Early morning fog in the Lower South East, with frost patches over central and eastern districts. Cool to mild in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening in the west.Sunday 7 September
Fine. Mild grading to warm in the far north, and warm to hot in the far west. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh northerly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning to midnight Sunday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm over the agricultural area, decreasing to less than 1 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 5 to 15 mm are possible over the Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and Yorke Peninsula districts.
Monday until WednesdayA change extending from the west with showers developing, extending throughout the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral and Flinders districts by early Tuesday, before contracting southwards. Warm grading to hot in the west with freshening northerly winds, shifting cooler southwest to northwesterly in the west later Monday and throughout on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
