MELBOURNE - Sep 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea should move further eastwards to be located near the north island of New Zealand on Friday. A high pressure system near Adelaide will drift slowly eastwards across Victoria during Thursday. A small low pressure system crossing Bight waters will move northeastwards across eastern South Australia on Thursday then weaken over northern NSW on Friday. A new high pressure system will cross Bight waters to reach Bass Strait on Friday and should be located over eastern Victoria on Saturday and Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers over East Gippsland, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Dry across the north with high cloud increasing in the west. Light southwest to southerly winds.Thursday 4 SeptemberEarly frost inland over the east, locally severe. Morning fog patches. Scattered showers developing in the west with scattered showers over the east. A cool mostly cloudy day with generally light winds.Friday 5 SeptemberIsolated showers over East Gippsland, otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Morning frost patches in the north. Generally cool with light to moderate southeasterly wind.Saturday 6 SeptemberMorning frost and fog patches then a fine, cool to mild and mostly sunny day.
