Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will move into the far west of the State tonight and extend eastwards to reach a line near Coober Pedy to Mount Gambier late Sunday evening. A cold front will move northeastwards across the State on Monday. A high will develop over the Bight during Monday, then another front will move across southern parts of the State on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine. Moderate northerly winds, ahead of a milder, moderate southerly change about the far west coast in the evening.Sunday 31 AugustIsolated showers developing over the West Coast, Lower Eyre and Yorke Peninsula's and Kangaroo Island during the early afternoon then extending to remaining parts south of about Whyalla to Lameroo during the late afternoon and evening. Showers increasing to areas of rain about Kangaroo Island, Lower Eyre Peninsula and southern Yorke Peninsula during evening. Warm grading to hot in the far north, with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a cooler moderate southwesterly change in the far west extending to Coober Pedy to Adelaide to Mount Gambier in the evening.Monday 1 SeptemberAreas of rain at times over the agricultural area and the far south of the Pastoral districts, with the chance of showers extending northwards to about Coober Pedy. Showers following the rain, more frequent with possible isolated thunderstorms over central and eastern parts south of about Port Augusta. Possible small hail south of Kingscote to Keith. Cool to cold, grading to mild in the far north with moderate northwest winds in the northeast, turning fresh southwesterly over the remainder.Tuesday 2 SeptemberChance of showers about southern agricultural area, more likely about southern coasts. Showers contracting southeast during the day and clearing by late evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 3 September
Cold at first with morning frost inland. Slight chance of showers developing over southern coasts. Showers over the agricultural area on Thursday with the chance of showers extending into the southern parts of the pastoral districts, all easing and contracting south on Friday. Cool to mild grading to warm in the northwest with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm over the west Coast district, 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area and far south of the pastorals with isolated falls of 10 to 15 mm over southern coasts and ranges.Less than 2 mm is expected further north over areas south of about Coober Pedy.
Thursday until SaturdayShowers extending over over the agricultural area on Thursday with the chance of showers extending into the far south of the pastoral districts, all easing and contracting south then clearing on Friday. Possible showers developing west of Ceduna during Saturday afternoon and evening. Cool to mild, becoming mild to warm on Saturday grading to hot in the northwest. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds tending to moderate to fresh northerly during Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
