Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is over the north Tasman Sea and a strong high pressure system is located over the south Tasman Sea. The high extends a ridge northwestwards across Victoria and Bass Strait. Little change is expected in this broad pattern for the remainder of the week with the high pressure ridge persisting over Victoria and Bass Strait. Any cold fronts approaching from the west are likely to decay and slide away to the southeast.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFog patches developing overnight. Isolated showers over far East Gippsland. Generally light east to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 27 AugustIsolated showers in the far east and developing about the central ranges during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere after morning fog patches. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with light variable winds and weak afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 28 AugustIsolated showers in the far east. Fine elsewhere after morning fog patches. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with light variable winds and weak afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 29 AugustIsolated showers in the far east. Fine elsewhere after morning fog patches.
