MELBOURNE - Aug 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the west of Eyre Peninsula will move east to reach a line Kingscote to Pukatja late morning and Yunta to Marla late evening. A high will develop over the Bight tonight and then move slowly southeast to be near Mount Gambier on Monday evening. The high will then merge with a stronger high over the Tasman Sea, extending a ridge of high pressure over South Australia for the most of next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area, tending scattered south of Keith, becoming isolated and contracting to the Lower South East coast in the evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Lower South East coast during the late afternoon and evening. Patchy morning fog in the west. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds, fresh at times over the southern agricultural area, ahead of a cooler, moderate southwest to southerly change fresh about southern coasts, extending to a line Yunta to Marla late evening.Sunday 24 AugustIsolated showers about the South East districts, contracting to the Lower South East coast in the afternoon. Patchy morning fog and frost in the south. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending moderate to fresh southwesterly in the Lower South East.Monday 25 AugustSlight chance of showers over the Lower South East coast in the morning. Patchy morning fog and frost in the south. Warm in the north and west, mild over the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 26 August Possible morning fog patches in the Lower South East then a fine day. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about the Lower South East district. Wednesday until FridayFine.
