Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A 1034 hPa high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary for the next week. A low pressure trough will move into the west of the State on Friday then move southeastwards to reach southeastern districts late Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPossible isolated showers until early evening over the Flinders and Mid North districts and over the North East Pastoral south of about Marree. A cool evening with moderate northeasterly winds in the west and light northeast to southeasterly winds over central and eastern parts.Friday 22 AugustPatchy fog and frost about the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Warm in the west and north grading to mild over remaining parts. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh at times in the west, shifting southwest to southerly west of Ceduna during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 23 AugustIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area, more likely south of a line Minlaton to Nuriootpa to to Keith. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds, ahead of a cooler, light to moderate southwest to southeasterly change extending from the west.Sunday 24 AugustThe chance of showers about the southeast districts and southeast of the Murraylands, more likely south of about Keith, easing during the evening. Patchy morning fog and frost in the south. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 25 August
Slight chance of showers over the South East districts in the morning. Patchy morning fog in the south. Warm in the north and west, mild over the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts and ranges, and reaching 5 to 10 mm about the South East districts.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
