Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep complex low pressure system is off the central NSW coast and will move away to the east on Tuesday. Meanwhile, a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a high pressure ridge over Tasmania. The high will drift slowly eastwards on Tuesday, passing across Tasmania Wednesday night and reaching the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weakening cold front will approach western Victoria late on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of rain over East Gippsland easing to showers by early afternoon. Isolated showers or drizzle over remaining southern and mountain districts, but dry over the northern plains. A cool mostly cloudy day with light to moderate southerly winds, fresh during the morning about the East Gippsland coast and eastern ranges.Wednesday 20 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches inland and isolated coastal showers. Cool in the south, but a little milder north of the divide with generally light southeast to southerly winds.Thursday 21 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east. A cool to mild day generally light east to northeasterly winds.Friday 22 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east.
