MELBOURNE - Aug 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex low pressure system is located off the central parts of the coast with a number of low pressure centres embedded within it. This system is forecast to move north on Monday before slowly heading east over the Tasman Sea during Tuesday and Wednesday. A high pressure system developing over the Bight extends a ridge over western NSW in the wake of this system. Forecast for the rest of MondayRain in the southeast, with moderate to heavy falls possible. The chance of showers through most other districts, although remaining fine in the far west and northeast. Morning fog patches, mainly in the north, and the southern inland. Cooler and fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, tending strong south to southeasterly in the southeast corner. Dangerous surf over the southern and central coast.Tuesday 19 AugustHigh likelihood of showers for central and southeast parts of the coast and eastern side of the ranges. Medium chance of showers for the remainder of the ranges, slopes and coast. Slight chance of showers over the southern inland. Fine on the north coast and in the far west. West to south winds, fresh to strong along the coast.Wednesday 20 AugustSlight chance of showers along the coastal districts and northern ranges, more likely on the northern coast. Slight chance of showers over the northern inland. South to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast in the morning.Thursday 21 AugustMedium chance of showers along the coast and ranges. Slight chance of showers on the northern slopes and inland.
