Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high 1040 hPa centred south of Kangaroo Island will move east to be over the Tasman Sea by late on Friday. A new high will move into the Bight on Sunday. An upper level low and cold airmass with an associated surface trough of low pressure is developing over the Northeast Pastoral district.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, increasing to areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms east of about Coober Pedy. Cool with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty at times in the north.Friday 15 AugustAreas of early frost about parts of the eastern border districts and in the northwest. Early fog patches over Southeast, Eyre Peninsula and the West Coast. Isolated showers east of about Coober Pedy to Kimba to Adelaide, increasing to areas of rain over parts of the Pastorals, Flinders and Riverland. Possible thunder between Moomba and Broken Hill. Possible light showers about the far west. Cool to cold with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty in the north.Saturday 16 AugustEarly frost in the northwest. Early fog patches over the West Coast. The chance of showers about the west coast and east of Port Lincoln to Moomba, increasing to areas of rain east of Leigh Creek to Clare. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh about eastern inland parts.Sunday 17 AugustThe chance of light showers about southern coasts. Slight chance of showers east of Leigh Creek to Clare, increasing to areas of rain near the eastern border between about Renmark and Broken Hill. Showers and rain in the east easing during the day. Cool with light to moderate south to southwest winds, fresh in the east.Monday 18 August
The slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, more likely about the southern agricultural area. Cool with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the Pastoral, Flinders and Riverland districts south of Moomba and east of Woomera, increasing to 15 to 30 mm on and east of the ranges with isolated heavier falls of 30 to 60 mm possible on the eastern slopes.
Tuesday until ThursdaySlight chance of showers about southern and far western coasts, and also about the eastern border north of Lameroo on Tuesday. Contracting to far southern coasts on Wednesday then clearing on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
