Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system south of the Bight is extending a ridge across Victoria to the Tasman Sea, while a trough lies through inland Queensland and New South Wales. This trough is gradually deepening in response to an upper-level system stalled over SA, with a low pressure system expected to form within it on Friday. Rain will develop in the state's northwest as this system evolves, becoming more widespread across the inland during Friday and Saturday. On Saturday the low and trough are forecast to become more mobile, shifting slowly towards the southeast and bringing rain to coastal districts. Most areas will see an easing trend during Sunday as the trough reaches the coast and weak ridge approaches from the west, although some parts of the coast may continue to be affected by the low as it tracks across the Tasman Sea.
