MELBOURNE - Aug 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system south of the Bight is extending a ridge across Victoria to the Tasman Sea, while a trough lies through inland Queensland and northwest New South Wales. Rain is expected to develop in the northwest as this system develops, becoming more widespread across most inland districts during Friday and Saturday. On Saturday the low and trough are expected to become more mobile, shifting slowly towards the southeast with rain extending to coastal districts later. Most of the rain will then shift to coastal districts on Sunday as the trough reaches the coast and weak ridge moves across from the west.
