Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high 1044 hPa south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be centred south of Kangaroo Island later Thursday and then over the Tasman Sea later on Friday. A new high will move into the Bight on Sunday. An upper level cold pool of air and associated surface trough of low pressure is developing over the Northeast Pastoral district.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers near southern and western coasts, and also in an area bounded by Renmark to Tarcoola to Moomba. Cool to cold with moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Thursday 14 AugustEarly frost patches over eastern inland districts and in the west, with early fog patches over the agricultural area and west coast. Early drizzle about eastern slopes of the ranges. Isolated showers over the pastoral districts east of Coober Pedy and the Flinders district, increasing to scattered showers, possible thunder and areas of rain between Moomba and Hawker. A cool to cold day with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty in the north.Friday 15 AugustAreas of early frost over the Riverland district and in the west. Early fog patches over the agricultural area, west coast and northeast interior. Isolated showers east of about Coober Pedy to Clare to Lameroo, tending scattered with possible thunder between Moomba and Hawker. Cool to cold with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty in the north.Saturday 16 AugustEarly frost in the northwest. Early fog patches over the agricultural area, west coast and northeast interior. A chance of showers about the west coast and east of Port Lincoln to Moomba, more likely about eastern inland parts. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh about eastern inland parts.Sunday 17 August
A chance of showers south of Ceduna to to Cleve to Leigh Creek. Cool with light to moderate south to southwest winds, fresh in the east.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday evening to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about south central coasts and east of a line Lameroo to Woomera to Oodnadatta to Moomba increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the south of the Northeast Pastoral and east of the Flinders district, with local heavier falls of 15 to 30 mm. Less than 2 mm elsewhere.
Monday until WednesdayA chance of showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, contracting to southern coasts later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
