Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over waters south of the Bight is moving slowly eastwards and will cross Bass Strait on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea Friday night. Meanwhile a low pressure trough will develop over eastern South Australia on Thursday and will deepen to form a low pressure centre over western NSW on Friday. The low is then expected to drift southeastwards towards northeastern Victoria late Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly cloudy with isolated light showers over southern and mountain districts. Early frost patches in the north then a mostly sunny day. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 14 AugustEarly frost patches inland. Isolated light showers in the south clearing later in the day. Cool to cold. Cloudy periods in the south but mostly sunny in the north. Light southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 15 AugustEarly frost inland then a fine day although isolated showers developing over the far northwest at night. A cool day with generally light winds.Saturday 16 AugustAreas of rain across the north with patchy rain developing in the south although only isolated showers developing in the far southwest. A cool and cloudy day with a light wind tending moderate southeasterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
