Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system south of the Bight directs a southerly airstream over New South Wales. The high will be slow moving over the next couple of days with shower activity expected near the coast and generally fine conditions in the west. A trough is expected to deepen over western Queensland Thursday and Friday, with rain likely to increase over northwest NSW. At this stage the trough is expected to move slowly east over the weekend with rain expected in most districts, easing in the west.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers along northern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Dry, mostly clear remainder. Early frosts about the ranges and western slopes. South to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast. Dangerous surf.Wednesday 13 AugustScattered showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon showers in the far northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Thursday 14 AugustIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Patchy rain in the northwest. Partly cloudy remainder. Easterly winds.Friday 15 AugustRain areas about the northwest third or so. Isolated showers possible about the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
