Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front moved through Victoria today. A strong high pressure system is moving over waters south of the Bight and will remain almost stationary until Wednesday, directing a rather cold southerly airstream across Victoria. The high should move close to Tasmania on Thursday as a low pressure trough develops over South Australia.
Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers over the south and east with isolated showers over the northern plains. Local hail with showers in the south. Showers falling as snow above 700 metres. Cold, moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, gradually easing.Monday 11 AugustIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 800 metres. Local hail with showers in the morning. Early frost inland, locally severe then a cold day with moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 12 AugustIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, extending to the northwest in the afternoon and falling as snow above 900 metres. Early frost inland then a cold day with moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 13 AugustIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, generally clearing in the late afternoon. Early frost patches inland then a cold day with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 14 AugustEarly frost patches inland. Isolated showers near the coast, clearing in the afternoon. Light southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Monday.Product IDV10310
