MELBOURNE - Aug 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross northeastern New South Wales tonight with a strong, slow-moving high pressure system south of the Bight extending a ridge behind it. During Thursday a low pressure trough will develop over the northwest of the state as the high moves near Tasmania maintaining the ride to the north coast. The trough is expected to deepen during Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the southeast, more likely about the south coast and ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above about 1400 metres today, lowering to 1000 metres tonight. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds turning southerly in the west and southeast, fresh on the coastal fringe.Monday 11 AugustIsolated showers along the north and central coasts. Early frost and fog patches on the slopes and ranges. Partly cloudy in the south and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 12 AugustShowers along the south and central coasts, possibly extending to the adjacent ranges. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges and early fog patches in the south. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 13 AugustIsolated showers on the north and central coasts, tending scattered on the coastal fringe. The chance of showers in the northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Thursday 14 AugustIsolated showers in the northern and central districts, more likely near the coast. Partly cloudy in the south.
