Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move from the Bight to reach western Victoria later today, crossing the remainder of the State overnight and early Sunday. A strong high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Sunday then remain almost stationary until Wednesday, directing a rather cold southerly airstream across Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning fog patches in the north and east. A cool to mild day with moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a colder west to southwesterly change reaching the southwest during the evening. Isolated showers developing over the west during the afternoon, extending to central areas tonight.Sunday 10 AugustScattered showers over southern and mountain districts with isolated showers over the northern plains. Local hail with showers in the south. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres in the morning, but lowering to 800 metres by the evening. A cold day with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Monday 11 AugustIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 800 metres. Early frost patches inland then a cold day with moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 12 AugustIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 900 metres. Early frost patches inland then a cold day with moderate southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
