Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Adelaide extends a ridge across central and northern NSW. A cold front will weaken as it crosses the southeast of the state today with very little rainfall expected. The high will move east across NSW following the front, then move across the Tasman Sea Friday and Saturday. A stronger front will cross southern and central parts of the state on Sunday with a southeasterly airstream to follow for the early part of the new week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers about the far southern ranges, clearing during the day, and isolated showers developing along the coastal fringe south of Port Macquarie later. Morning frosty areas, particularly about the ranges, and isolated morning fog patches in the east. Mostly sunny otherwise. Southwest to southerly winds, freshening along the coast.Friday 8 AugustIsolated showers about the northern half of the coast, contracting further north. Morning fog and frost. Fine elsewhere. Chiefly light winds though moderate to fresh southerly on the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions developing along southern and central parts of the coast.Saturday 9 AugustIsolated showers about the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Areas of morning frost and fog. Fine elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions, easing in the south.Sunday 10 AugustIsolated showers in the south, more likely about the south coast and ranges, and isolated showers on the north coast. Light to moderate and variable winds turning southerly in the south and west, fresh to strong along the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
