MELBOURNE - Aug 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near Renmark will move very slowly eastwards over New South Wales on Thursday and the Tasman Sea by Saturday. A low pressure trough is expected to move across the south of the State during Saturday and early Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers near southern coasts and over the South East districts. A cool evening with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds in the south, light and variable in the central and northern parts of the State.Thursday 7 AugustThe chance of isolated showers over the South East districts, Kangaroo Island and the south of the Fleurieu Peninsula. A cold morning with areas of frost and fog. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with mainly light winds.Friday 8 AugustA cold morning with areas of frost. A cool day in the south grading to mild in the north with light to moderate northerly winds.Saturday 9 AugustIsolated showers developing over southern coastal districts during the afternoon and evening. Cold at first over central and eastern parts with areas of frost then a mainly mild day with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds shifting southwest to southeasterly during the afternoon and evening.Sunday 10 August Isolated showers about the agricultural area and possibly over the far south of pastoral districts. A cool morning about the eastern border then a cool to mild day. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the Lower South East, Kangaroo Island and the south of Fleurieu Peninsula, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm possible about the Lower South East coast. Less then 2 mm are expected elsewhere.
